Make masks and packs yourself

Everything the stomach can handle is also good for our skin. In this article I would like to tell you a number of masks that you can put together yourself in the supermarket or refrigerator. None of these masks are expensive in any way, as you only need very small amounts that are available or available in the household.

The basics of masks & packs

With these masks and packs, you take a small mask bowl and a flat brush and mix the spread.

When I talk about the basics, I mean grated almonds, healing clay, oatmeal, oat pulp, oatmeal, wheat bran or wheat germ and bean flour.

I advise you to always have a small supply ready. You can decide for yourself which basis you want to choose. But never use starch, it swells up too much and widens the pores.

Preparing face masks

Before we apply the masks, we need to thoroughly clean our face. In the case of dry or old skin, it is essential to massage in fat cream before applying the mask, especially around the eye areas that are not covered by the mask.

On large-pored, oily skin, the compound can be applied immediately after cleaning.

The packs and masks always stay on the face for fifteen to twenty minutes. During this time, you lie down and cover your eyes with three percent boron water compresses. For dry skin, it is good to wash the packs or masks with milk.

Packs are best made from fruits and their pulp, while juices are better suited to masks. If we don't have fresh fruit, we can use supermarket juices all year round.

Now I want to finally tell you the mask recipes. The amount, one teaspoon full of foundation, about one tablespoon full of juice, is always intended for one mask or pack.

Lemon mask

These masks are particularly suitable for young people. They have a contracting, cleansing and blood circulation-promoting effect. They are also recommended for large-pored and oily skin. Mix a tablespoon of lemon juice with a little foundation and the mask is ready to spread. For older people, it is advisable to mix in a piece of fat cream the size of a hazelnut so that the skin does not dry out too much.

Melon mask

The mashed meat of the melon, mixed with a little base, results in a very refreshing mask that has a contracting effect due to the fruit acid.

Grape-currant-gooseberry mask

You stir the crushed fruit pulp with the base and get a cleansing and refreshing spread. Unripe currants bleach in a similar way to lemons.

Strawberry mask

A large strawberry or two is mashed and mixed with a little cream and base. However, if you are sensitive to strawberries, you should not use this mask. Cherries, apples and apricots, peaches and raspberries can also be used in masks. You always mix the pulp with a little base and improve it with cream, honey and a little fat cream.

Cereal mask

Many people eat muesli made from oatmeal or wheat germ with fruit, yogurt and nuts every morning. Tear off a little branch every now and then for your face and you will look refreshed and radiant. This mask is left to dry and rubbed off with circular movements. Afterwards you rinse your face with milk.

Coconut milk mask

Coconut milk mixed with the base results in a soothing and mattifying mask that is tolerated by all skin types.

Carrot-radish-pumpkin mask

Carrots, radishes or pumpkins are grated and mixed with about 10 drops of lemon juice and some base. We receive a very vitamin-rich mask, which specifically contains the skin protection vitamin A. The carrot juice also gives the skin a brownish tinge.

Tomato mask

A peeled tomato is mashed, mixed with the base and applied. This mask has a tanning and matting effect due to its acidity.

Mask or pack made from raw potatoes

Grated potatoes are thickly applied to the face. If you make raw potato dumplings or potato pancakes, you should use some mass for cosmetics. You can wash your face with the leftover potato water, as we all know how clean and soft your hands look after grating the potatoes. A similar effect is achieved if the face is rubbed with thick potato slices in the course of the split lines.

Pack or mask from boiled potatoes

You mash two or three jacket potatoes, add some milk and egg yolk and heat the mixture in a water bath. After a heat test on the pulse, it is rubbed quite hot on the face. You can also use ready-made mashed potatoes. As you know, potatoes are also used in healing poultices. For cosmetics, they result in blood circulation-promoting, smoothing and cleansing packs and masks.

Sauerkraut pack

Spread the sauerkraut all over your face or rub it down vigorously. This treatment is particularly recommended for large-pored, oily skin. You can do it several times a week. Sauerkraut cleanses and has a wonderful astringent effect on the pores.

Herbal mask

Parsley, sorrel, tarragon, lovage, watercress and other herbs can be weighed together and brewed with hot milk and, mixed with a little base, make a refreshing, blood-circulation-promoting mask. Parsley alone makes red noses and red cheeks pale. Dried herbs such as chamomile, sage, arnica, fennel etc. can be used to make healing and smoothing masks by scalding the herbs, letting them steep and mixing them with healing earth.

Cucumber mask

From the meat and the juice of the cucumber it is very easy to make a pulp that is applied to the face and neck. Rubbing the skin with cucumber peel is popular and well known. They refresh, cleanse and smooth.
