On one Mobile pillow the spine and back are protected from tension and other damage even during longer sessions on hard surfaces. The air-filled cushions train the back through dynamic processes. Mobile pillows can relieve those with back injuries, but also prevent back problems.

What is a mobile pillow?

Mobile cushions are air-filled and transportable seat cushions. The seat pads enable dynamic sitting and help to strengthen the back muscles. Basically, the cushions offer effects similar to those of the air-filled sitting ball. However, they are much more space-saving and can therefore also be carried to the office or on longer trips, for example.

Today there are medical seat pads in different materials. The seat cushions can, for example, be made of solid materials such as aluminum or wood. PU foam or plastic is just as often used as a material. The filling consists of fluids, gels or air. The air-filled mobile cushion made of plastic is superior to hard seat pads and adapts to the body even better and more dynamically than gel-filled seat cushions. Shapes, types & types

Mobile pillows are usually round and made of air-filled plastic. They differ in shape in that they offer a more or less large seating area. So that optimal effects can be achieved with the back-friendly cushion and sitting is also comfortable, the seat pad must be selected in suitable dimensions, taking into account the individual body area and the respective seat area.

The diameters of the pillows are between 33 and 36 centimeters. The load capacity of the documents is up to 300 kilograms. As a rule, the air in the seat cushion can be let in and, if necessary, let out again via a valve. This means that you do not have to pay attention to the hardness of the seat pad when buying, as the resistance can be adjusted independently at any time, depending on the situation and the desired effect. Some pillow models have an integrated climate function. Slip protection is also included in some versions. In order to sit even more comfortably, there are special covers made of materials such as cotton for the pillows.

Structure & functionality

Mobile pillows are usually made of a tear-resistant and durable material that has a relatively soft surface. The shape of the round cushions is ideally tailored to the human buttocks and thus enables natural, upright sitting.

Usually there is an air valve on the mobile pillow. This valve can be used to refill air with the aid of a pump or to let it out of the cushion by opening the valve. The seat pads are not rigid, but flexible due to the air filling, making dynamic sitting possible.

The air-filled seat pads are simply placed on the chair or seating furniture and the user takes a seat on them. Since the pillow is not rigid, but rather flexible, the back muscles are automatically trained. In addition, the flexible base automatically reduces the sitting pressure and protects the bones of the buttocks, which are heavily stressed when sitting on an unyielding surface for long periods of time. The recording and the adjustment take place on an air-filled mobile cushion without counter pressure in order to avoid shear forces and compressive forces. The seat pressure points and bones of the buttocks are embedded in the cushion and movement on the materials is possible with relatively little resistance.

Mobile cushions are not only suitable as a seat pad. Users can also stand on them and thus train their own balance or exercise the leg muscles. As a base for sports, air-filled mobile pillows make the exercises more demanding because the muscles have to compensate for the flexibility of the pillow. Training stages are thus more effective.

Mobile pillows are primarily of medical use for people with herniated discs or other back problems. But they are also suitable for preventing back problems.
